Workshops

TPDL 2021 is seeking proposals for interactive workshops to run in an exclusively online conference in September 2021. Workshops can be aimed at practitioners, researchers or a mixture of both, but should be designed to be interactive, foster collaboration, and perhaps work toward some kind of research output. Workshops in this online format will be limited to up to two two-hour blocks of time, with the potential for individual work in between. Proposers should consider how they will be inclusive of participants from all time zones in their proposal. 

Topics in 2021 include, but are not limited to and in no specific order:  

  • Digital Libraries
  • Information Retrieval
  • Research Data Management
  • Data Repositories and Archives
  • Digital Preservation and Curation
  • Standards and Interoperability
  • Data and Information Lifecycle
  • Linked Data and Open Data
  • Digital Cultural Heritage
  • Data and Research Infrastructure
  • Document (Text) Analysis
  • Scholarly Communication
  • User Interface and Experience in Digital Libraries
  • Information Interaction

Workshop proposals 

Proposals should be 4 pages in the LNCS format plus references, and they should cover the intellectual (research or practice) background of the workshop, brief bios for the organizers, what a workshop will offer participants, and some idea of the anticipated outcome or output of the workshop. Proposals should include one ancillary page in any format (not for publication) articulating how the workshop will be scheduled, including the use of in-person time, and addressing the issue of time zone inclusivity. This page should also include a 100-word blurb for the workshop to be advertised on the conference website, should it be successful. 

Tutorials

Tutorials in this format will be up to two, two-hour blocks with the potential for individual work in between.   • Camera-ready submission: 27.06.2021
  • Conference: 13.09. – 17.09.2021
